Alta Strada - located in the busy and growing Mosaic District in Fairfax, VA, is seeking a Rockstar Line Cook to join the team. The candidate should be a skilled, career-minded individual in search of a rewarding and unique position. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about learning new skills (pastry production, pasta making, , butchering, basic prep.), possess a strong work ethic, and desire to work in a scratch kitchen. Work with a dedicated team of culinary and hospitality professionals, who are committed to providing the absolute best experience for their guests. Our kitchen team works as a close unit in a teaching atmosphere. Our chefs provide training through our philosophy of "tell, show, practise, validate." Our menu includes rotating items, based on seasonality. While at work, you will learn authentic Italian production techniques and forms while also working in a job that prioritizes a work/life balance. We expect all team members to contribute ideas and collaborate together to make the strongest possible culinary team. Responsibilities include: -Production with flexibility to work weekends and holidays-Working in a learning environment with room for professional development and growth -Developing and contributing ideas with menu additions -Operating in a clean workspace and producing top-quality food to support the culinary team -Maintaining health department, food quality, and restaurant standards at all times Requirements include: -Great and happy personalities eager to learn; responsible, respectful, and team player-Relevant restaurant experience or recent culinary graduate with exceptional skills-Able to handle a fast-paced environment and manage pressure well-Great work ethic and committed to being the best -Flexibility to work weekends and without restrictions We are interested only in serious responses from serious applicants.
